In the state of Tennessee wine is considered liquor by law. In the county of Humphrey's there is an ordinance prohibiting the sale of 'liquor by the drink'. In the city of Waverly there is an ordinance prohibiting liquor in any establishment that sells or serves beer. The laws can be very confusing, especially for out of state visitors, and it is, for those reasons we are not inclined to seek a beer permit to sell or serve beer. What we can do is bring our own wine and spirits (B.Y.O.B.) into the restaurant to enjoy as part of your dining experience at Samuel's. There is a nominal $5 'corking fee' for each bottle brought in. We provide the glasses and pop the cork table-side.If a cocktail is more likely to sooth your spirit we also offer mixer pitchers for Margarita, Bloody Mary, Tom Collins, Whiskey Sour, as well as soda, and juices available.
